THE 2019 ANNUAL KAYAK FISHING CLUB GET TOGETHER
It was another fantastic gathering of kayak fishing enthusiasts at the 12th annual get together held during the first weekend of November. We had another huge turnout with over 165 members and family attending with conditions quite strong during the early part of the day, yet when they did calm down it couldn't have been better.
We had some great fish turn up at weigh in with a few just over the maximum size for snapper which is 60cm plus kingfish and more. Everyone was having fun during the day and during weigh in with the kids running around it was a real family atmostphere and it was great to see the younger attendees catching some fish also.
Then it was time to get down to the main part of the day, the evening dinner and once again it was another epic turnout with all the helpers doing a great job behind the scenes cooking, preparing and organizing everyone's contribution to the meal.
One of the best things about this event is the people and the venue at Papa Aroha Holiday park was buzzing with fun laughs and good times. It was great to see some old faces plus many new comers which is what this get together is all about.
The atmosphere at this gathering is really awesome with everyone getting along and enjoying a few cold ones and a bit of friendly banter it was something not to be missed. Finally dinner was up and what a spread it was once again in 2019.

Dinner was outstanding with plenty to go around and desert followed what a feast it was. After this it was time for prize giving to acknowledge all the great fish caught and weighed in.
Once again there was a huge amount of prizes up for grabs which is outstanding considering the event has no entry fee which wouldn't be possible with the generosity of our suppliers.
Most went home with something and it was great to see such a great turnout. This event would not be possible without the following sponsors who supplied a wise variety of prizes. Next years event will change with many offering to continue this social gathering and the date is set down for the first weekend of November 2020.
If you have never attended one of these then be sure to find the time next year as the family atmosphere and people really makes it the best kayak fishing social event on the calender.
