New Zealand's Original On-line Kayak & Fishing Store

It was another fantastic event with the social gathering proving popular attracting 140 kayak anglers plus around 25 family members. Despite the less than ideal weather Coromandel still provided some areas to get on the water in the kayak and plenty of fish came in to the weigh station in this year.

This was our 10th get together and it was great to catch up with our regular members plus we had many new comers to the sport. Everyone enjoyed the fishing competition that is designed around friendly participation with a section for the younger upcoming kayak anglers with a great turn out.

This year we had even more help with Ken and Jeannette doing the weigh in allowing Rob and Janet more time to socialize with everyone. Once again the event proved to be more than just a kayak fishing competition with everyone enjoying each others company. The quality of the people who attend this event is something special with young and old creating a special atmosphere.

With some great company enjoyed during the afternoon prior to the evening meal this year we had so much amazing food with Mike and Pete Bell once again producing a fantastic spit roast. They even had a char grill BBQ that did a nice job of the chickens and a big thanks to them for all the effort. Everyone enjoyed the banquet of food on offer then it was time for prize giving.

This year we had a massive amount of prizes that meant most took home something with the winners getting a whole bunch of items in the prize packs thanks to the sponsors who gave to the prize pool. The following companies supported this event and the fishing competition wouldn't be possible with them.
